I’m sorry for being so MIA on the blog the past 2 weeks. But here’s a nice long post for ya with my trip recap and some great pictures of all that we saw and did. Hopefully it shows you all that there are always ways to pack in physical activity that’s fun, even on vacation!
Day 1: Got into San Francisco late, so just crashed at the B8B.
Day 2: On our first full day of vacay, we started the day by just walking a few miles around San Francisco and exploring the city. We then rented bikes and rode along the bike path and over the Golden Gate bridge into Sausalito! It’s always so fun to see sights that you’ve only seen in books and TV before (neither of us had ever been to Cali prior to this trip). We had lunch in Sausalito before hopping on the ferry back to San Francisco to return the bikes, where we then went over to Ghiradelli Square (where I managed to avoid buying too much chocolate!) and then the wax museum for a little relaxed fun. After all that, we walked back to our B&B. I thought it was only a couple miles, but it turned out to be over 5 hilly miles back.
After the ceremony, we were treated to some flowers from the race directors (thank you!). We ended up going to a market down the street that was grilling and had a hot dog and homemade cookie for lunch – a meal probably not at all fit for a dietitian, but hey – it was my wedding day! The rest of the day, we just relaxed, strolled along the beach, and watched some TV at the B&B we were staying at.
Day 11: Our last day! We had to leave in the afternoon to get to the airport, so we didn’t have too much time in the morning to do anything big. But we did wander over into Chinatown to see the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory and explore some of the other sights there. On our way back to the hotel to get our luggage, we grabbed lunch at a great little restaurant that had live jazz music. And from there, we got our bags and headed to the airport for our trip home.
